Green Commercial Cleaning launches staff recognition scheme

Monday, November 9th, 2015

Green Commercial Cleaning has launched a new scheme to highlight how staff go the extra mile in their roles.

The company is encouraging clients, managers and cleaners to nominate a member of their team for the monthly accolade in the Staff Star Recognition Scheme.

The winner of the first award is Jackie Brentano, a cleaner at Hull Collegiate School in Anlaby, who works full time on the site, as well as taking on extra responsibilities and additional shifts, including nationwide at weekends, to ensure the job is carried out to the highest standard.

Hull Collegiate School has been a Green Commercial Cleaning client for several years and the partnership was recently extended when the contract was renewed.

Green Commercial Cleaning has a large cleaning team on site, including Jackie, as well as supervisors and contract managers, five days per week, unless events are planned during weekends.

Jackie, of west Hull, received a certificate for her efforts and said she was thrilled to be chosen as the first recipient of the Staff Star award.

She said: “I was gobsmacked and I wondered what it was at first. But it shows they appreciate me and I’m really pleased.

“I’ve worked at Hull Collegiate full time since September and everyone is really nice. I like working for Green Commercial Cleaning and I try my best all the time.

“I want to do a good job because that’s the way I am.”

Green Commercial Cleaning is enjoying success through continued investment in staff and equipment. It counts businesses including P&O Ferries and KC as long-standing clients.

Maxine Saffery, Commercial Manager at CFI, said it is important to recognise staff for their efforts.

“We want to make sure our staff know they are appreciated and recognise when they go the extra mile, or achieve something out of the ordinary,” she said.

“That could be anything from long service, to going over and above in their day to day roles.

“Jackie is absolutely fantastic and 150 per cent reliable.

“At the drop of a hat, she travelled 150 miles to head up an emergency clean for one of our large clients.

“Jackie was nominated by staff at Hull Collegiate School and she has done a fantastic job since joining the team there in September, integrating really well.

“She is a keypartof the team in general. She is completely trustworthy and we know she will go the extra mile to get the job done. Jackie is thoroughly deserving of our first award.”

Andrew Kiddy, Facilities Manager at Hull Collegiate School, said: “Jackie has settled in so well with the team, always has a smile on her face and is always willing to do anything she is asked.

“She actively finds things to do during quieter moments, never afraid to ask.

“I am so pleased to have her on board. Many teaching staff have commented that it’s so good to have her and how good she is.”
